For those of you who'd like to track your cellphone or tablet if you loose it, read this article and then activate the feature on your Android by following the below mentioned steps:
You would need atleast Gingerbread 2.3 running on your Android device. This will work on cellphones as well as tablets with or without calling facility.
I tried to locate and ring my Nexus 7 (2012) WiFi only version and was successfully able to get it to ring on full volume for 5 minutes.
For devices running Jelly Bean 4.1 and above, you would need location report to be switched on for this to work.
- Open Google Settings on your Android from the App drawer.
- Select and Open "Android Device Manager" from the list
- Select/Tick both the options mentioned in the menu.
